The Animator Survival Kit is fine, well at least I've used it as a reference for the walk cycle. Apart from that I would tell you to investigate the programs you can use. Because the difference between animating frame by frame (Krita) and animating with programs that automatically complete the movement (After Effect or others) is quite big. And not to mention Blender which can be quite helpful if you find the right tutorials.
